![]() In his years of service Shad was awarded numerous awards including MSM (2), ARCOM (4), AAM (6), Good Conduct (4), NDSM, War on Terror also completing ARBORNE, BNCOC, ANCOC, HAZMAT Certification. Between these two deployments Shad completed French Airborne School. Shad went on to serve for 16 years of active duty including two deployments to Iraq first as a paratrooper then as a medic. After completion of basic training and airborne school he was assigned to the 82 nd Airborne. Upon Graduating from Pembroke High School Shad enlisted in the army following his father’s footsteps. She had signed up to be an organ donor six years ago and we are all so very proud of her for paying her wonderful life forward. She even rescued an injured possum, treated it and released it into the wild after putting a pink bow in her fur.Īs an organ donor, Melissa courageously gave the gift of life to recipients. She once rescued a deaf, five week old kitten from the middle of a road. She rescued numerous cats that had been deserted at gas stations, restaurants, and churches. ![]() She once stopped to give her take out food to a homeless woman on the side of the road. She will be fondly remembered for her remarkable and wonderful character, exemplified by her selfless acts of kindness towards others. She was a pillar of strength and love for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Melissa was a devoted mother and homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into her beloved daughters, Avalon and Alena Lovell. ![]() When she was eight months along with Avalon, she hiked part of the Appalachian Trail. Melissa found immense joy in spending time with friends and family, often venturing into the great outdoors to immerse herself in nature. After graduating from Habersham County High School in 2000, Melissa attended Anderson College where she majored in interior design and later Truett McConnell College where she majored in psychology. Melissa was a cherished member of Cool Springs Methodist Church. Melissa was born on Februto Susan Shaddix McCollum and the late Earnest Jay McCollum. Melissa Lynn McCollum Lovell, age 42, of Clarkesville, Georgia, departed for her heavenly home on Thursday, Septemafter an unexpected subarachnoid bleed from an intracranial aneurysm.
